This FREE course provides tools and a safe space to discuss and develop skills around Building Resilience, Managing Change and Becoming Motivated and is aimed at empowering the attendees to utilise this tools in both their personal and professional lives. The course will assist individuals to improve and develop personal skills and enable them to achieve new or existing goals.
This course is aimed at learners aged 19+ years who are unemployed, or on a low income or who would benefit from Personal and Social Development.
The course will be delivered on a presential basis with a combination of face to face classes, peer learning and access to digital and online resources. There will also be a 1-1 tutorial session each week for approximately ten minutes for each learner.  The 3 modules contribute towards a Level 1 qualification. The modules are:
  • Resilience and Grit
  • Individual Motivation
  • Coping with Change
The course aims to empower and provide skills needed to cope with and move forward from the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak. The course has a flexible design which allows it to be delivered both online or within a classroom setting, with the focus always on Personal and Social Development.

Learning objectives include:

  • Explain the importance of resilience.
  • Give examples of motivation in a range of contexts.
  • Identify ways to improve own self-motivation.
  • Identify different reactions and methods to help cope with change.
  • Develop personal resilience skills.
  • Explain the importance of self-motivation.
  • Explain why change can happen.
  • Justify how change is an opportunity and a positive experience rather than a negative one.

FAQs

Who is it for?  This course is for anyone aiming to better understand and build resilience, self-esteem and motivational tools to manage an ever-changing environment, both in and outside of employment and enterprise. As Time for Change is delivered online, some basic IT skills and access to the internet preferable.

What will you do?  The course will introduce you to the building blocks of personal development; developing Resilience, Motivation and Managing Change.

How will the course be delivered and assessed?  You will be taught and assessed by our specialist teaching team throughout the duration of your studies. There is no formal exam in this course however you will submit homework, to provide evidence towards a qualification or simply to have a valuable account of your learning to reflect on post course.

Future career or opportunities to study?  SMART goals will be set to aid personal progression and you will have access to a Career Advice service to help you plan forward.

Course fee:  The course is free for residents in the UK or Refugees. If you are not eligible you might be able to enrol by paying a subsidised fee so please contact us for further details.
